When this happens, it causes a decrease in the cost of the land for the owner. In effect, the land will be sold at a low price since people have no place to settle and build. This change does not only affect the old residents but also creates more inhabitants to the area. It is a very good thing if the effect will create a healthy environment to people and also contributes to the economic development of the area.Sustainable development means to create a more stable and well-being environment for future genera tions. It aims to provide the necessary resources so that a person will be able to live without any financial worries. In some cases, people buy properties just to have a piece of paradise in their life. In such situations, they usually want their children to grow up in a place where they can get a job without facing any problem.Gentrification and sustainable development are sometimes interrelated. In this case, they will be considered as two sides of the same coin. This happens when a place will be converted into a new suburb with commercial buildings to support the new businesses. The old commercial buildings will be transformed into apartments, condominiums or even into office spaces. As a result, the new businesses will depend on the same people who can offer them a better space and many advantages.Gentrification also has an interesting meaning for those who study the topic. Some people consider this trend as the destruction of the old-time neighbourhood. However, others conside r it as a new beginning. This is because people will take back the same quality of life that they once had before.Sustainable development and gentrification are not the same. Even though they are linked, they do not refer to the same thing. In case of sustainable development, there is a need to preserve the existing environment. For example, if there is a flood in the river, the government needs to protect the water bodies of the city. This will prevent the growth of some other places.However, there are many differences between gentrification and sustainable development. Most importantly, the people who refer to sustainable development as gentrification often do not understand the difference between the two. Therefore, it is better to distinguish these two terms into two categories. One of these categories is a natural growth and the other one is physical growth.Finally, it is worth to mention that gentrification and sustainable development have similarities. For example, both of th em promote growth.
